The Asus P5Q-E is a motherboard with an Intel LGA775 socket, compatible with 45nm multi-core CPUS. It is based on Intel's P45 chipset.

[edit] Installation Issues
[edit] Boot CD
amd64 booted properly using the latest minimal CD. Ran and installed with kernel 2.6.30

The sky2 module is auto loaded for one of the NICs and appears to function correctly. The other NIC uses skge and functions properly after a call to modprobe.

[edit] Drive Xpert
Setup in the bios is easy. Had trouble from the install cd accessing the disks an gave up early. Might need software support of some kind.
[edit] PATA
Works using the pata_marvell although performance isn't great. Had to enable the Drive Xpert in the bios. Not sure if this was coincidence or a hard requirement. Some troubleshoutings may occur with vanilla kernel lower than 2.6.27_rc6 (non detection of IDE drives). Problem is solved since this version of the vanilla-kernel.
